Our History
The Finesse Collection has four very different hotel offerings within the East Midlands. Each property oozes its own personality and character, ensuring there's something on offer to suit all.
The Finesse Collection first made their mark on the East Midland's map, with the purchase of The Lion Hotel, Belper in 2000. The company has grown steadily from this point with the acquisition of Donington Manor Hotel in Castle Donington in 2002, the Lace Market Hotel in Nottingham in 2005 and then 2008 saw the completion of a major renovation project - the Cathedral Quarter Hotel in Derby.
The diverse range of our East Midlands hotels all offer surroundings with style, the very best in food and drink and immaculate, personal service. The aim is to deliver an amazing experience every time for every guest.
With constant reinvestment by Managing Director, James Blick, The Finesse Collection remain ahead of the game with boutique hotels in the East Midlands. Our most recent opening Cathedral Quarter Hotel in Derby's historic Cathedral Quarter is testament to this as the first boutique hotel in Derby. The Finesse Collection invested £5 million to transform a Grade II listed building, once home to the Derbyshire Police Museum into a hotel offering the height of modern luxury.
