Menus

We have a number of options available for your wedding breakfast to help you plan and tailor your menu to your budget and tastes. 
MENU SELECTOR
The following menus are priced at £25.00 per person for three courses, please note some choices are subject to a supplement. Should any guests have special dietary requirements, we are happy to discuss these with you.

The team at The Lion Hotel want to cater to your every need, therefore if you have something in mind or the below doesn't suit you, please let us know as we would be more than happy to put together an alternative menu for you.

TO START
Roasted vine tomato and lemongrass soup
Spiced Seafood broth with saffron aioli (£2.00)
Chilled Chanterais melon, spearmint and crème fraiche soup
Butterbean and mixed pepper soup
Salad of marinated melon, pink ginger and raspberry sorbet
Cannelloni of smoked salmon, with pickled beets, cucumber and fennel bread
Tart of marinated goats cheese and red onion, rocket and parmesan salad
Home smoked salmon, with a pickled carrot and fennel salad (£1.50)
Terrine of duck and pistachio with piccalilli and walnut toast (£1.50)
Smoked duck breast and confit leg won-ton, celeriac remoulade and a five spice glaze (£1.50)

TO FOLLOW
Fillet of Pollock, with a mussel and sweetcorn chowder, roasted new potatoes and saffron aioli
Roasted chicken breast, filled with a black pudding and tarragon mousse, croquette potatoes and root vegetables
Braised shoulder of lamb, root vegetable mash, confit tomato, green beans and a green olive sauce (£1.50)
Risotto of wild mushrooms, peas, broad beans, truffle oil (v)
Mushroom stuffed loin of Ashover pork with buttered cabbage, apples, smoked bacon and celeriac dauphinoise
Beef Wellington, parmesan and truffle mash, seasonal mushrooms and spiced carrots (£3.50)
Derbyshire beef shin, oxtail and stilton sauce, colcannon and roasted mushrooms
Cumin roast Monkfish tail, wrapped in locally cured bacon, with blushed tomatoes, spinach and potato (£2.50)
Spinach and lemon crusted salmon fillet, fennel dauphinoise, red pepper and salsa Verde
Roasted squash and goats cheese open lasagne with crisp sage and pine nuts.

TO FINISH
Pear and roasted apricot tart with lemongrass custard
Summer pudding with an orange crème fraiche
Warm apple pie with vanilla custard and toffee apples (£1.50)
Apple, cinnamon and pear strudel, with caramel ice-cream
Chocolate espresso tart, with pistachio ice-cream and sesame brittle (£1.50)
Individual lemon sabayon tart, lemon shortbread, and crème fraiche sorbet
Crème brulee, mixed berry sorbet, and dried berry salad
Strawberry and Tonka bean slice
Summer berry and prosecco jelly, with amoretti biscuits and caramelized yoghurt
Selection of French and English Cheeses with biscuits and fruit chutney (£3.00)
